About Brockley
Described by some as the "Hampstead Heath" of the South East. Over the last few years Brockley has been one the most sought after and searched for areas South of the river. It has consistently outperformed some of the "posher" well known neighbouring postcodes and sits proudly at the top of our office enquiries table. Its green open spaces, fantastic transport links, good schools and community atmosphere make it unlike anywhere else in South East London. It is also the proud home of Bryan & Keegan.A large stock of period homes and easy access to the zone 2 East London Line (or ginger line as it is more commonly known) make it a popular destination for the savvy house hunter. The long high street has improved vastly and now has an eclectic mix of coffee shops, trendy eateries and local amenities to choose from. There is still room for improvement, but we think this is just another of the area's appealing factors. The strong community feel is echoed by a popular local forum, Brockley Central which is often the first port of call for anything SE4. You will find heaps of local news, tradespeople, threads and general banter to get involved in. Brockley has also long been home to many creative and artistic people. Each year around 50 people showcase their talent and invite you into their homes as part of Brockley Open Studio's which has been running since 1992. In addition there are locally organised events such as the Brockley Max music and arts festival & Croftfest.More recently the "foodies" have started to flood to the area which is largely down to the award winning Brockley Market which is held every Saturday from 10am-2pm in the Lewisham College car park. Whether you are looking for fresh produce, ingredients with a little flare or some of the delicious street food to cure that Friday night hangover, then the market seems to have something for everyone.
